Our Active School committee had a big task this year in setting up our new Active School Walkway. The committee came together one afternoon and we walked through the possible route deciding on the best locations for the different Walkway control points. The A4 control point is the Home base, then there are 10 green control points and 4 blue control points/Active Stations scattered around various locations around the school grounds.
We launched our Active Walkway during our Active Schools week from 14th -18th June 2021 and it was a huge success. All children thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it and couldn't wait for the next day to use it again. The children loved using the map to locate all the control points and the different problem solving activities using the letters on each control point. We did a Maths Walkway, a Dictionary Walkway, used it for just walking, Drop everything and Run and even used it for our Orienteering Active Day. The possibilities of it are endless and we are delighted with our latest Active School addition and can't wait to use it throughout the school years going forward.
