Active Homework by Ava Maguire and Amy Waters - Feb 2020 On Wednesdays we have Active Homework instead of one piece of our writing homework. We have to do a short activity like running on the spot for 2 to 5 minutes or 30 Jumping Jacks. We also have a choice of writing our own thing to do for Active Homework. We do it to encourage us to be more active and healthy at home.
Active HOME Week 27th April - 3rd May 2020
Each year we hold an Active Week as a whole school usually in the month of June and we incorporate our annual Sports Day into the week also. This year unfortunately due to national school closures due to the COVID-19 outbreak it was not possible for this to go ahead so we asked all our students and their families to participate in the ‘Active HOME Week’ challenge instead. It took place from 27th April to 3rd May and it was a great success.
The children were asked to be physically active for at least 60 minutes every day. They had the challenge of finding different ways of being Active each day. They recorded their Activities on a chart and at the end of the week sent them back to the school. We were blessed with the fine weather we had during the week which help us get out and get active in lots of different ways. Check out some the photos and charts below.
